What is a domain name?

A domain name is the URL or address your customers will type in the browser to access your site. Example: wwww.yourbusinessname.com

What does web hosting mean?

Web hosting is physically where your web pages and images will reside, in order to be accessed on the internet. There are many web hosts out there offering a variety of services and a wide range of prices. We offer web hosting to our clients for $10/month. See the Web Hosting Section for more information.

What does disk space and disk transfer (bandwidth) mean?

Disk space is how much physical space you are allowed on the web server. Disk transfer is how much content can be passed from the server to the rest of the world. If disk space was a bathtub then disk transfer would be the drain.

Why have a web site?

A web site can be used for many different things, depending on your goals. Think of a web site as a one-time advertising cost, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is a way for current and potential customers to gather information about you and/or your company at any time of the day. It can also be used to sell goods online.

What is the process of designing a web site?

Designing a web site is a four-step process. The first step is to determine all of your requirements (budget, desired audience, time frame, etc.). Next some templates of the basic site design will be developed. After your approval of the site design, content will be added to all of the pages. The last step is to register your domain name and publish your site!

What is the time frame?

Time frames vary depending on your individual site requirements and features. For a basic site with about 5 pages and no database, the time frame is 4 - 6 weeks after the initial requirements have been determined.

What are your prices?

Our prices vary depending on your requirements, if you will need a database, and if you already have a logo and/or content, if you need a shopping cart, etc.

What are some questions to think about before starting a new site?

What type of business do I have? What do I want my website to do for me? Who is my target audience for the site? What is the first impression I want my customers to have when coming to the site? Do I want to include any advanced features such as a shopping cart or login area?
